Terms of Use

What this service is
LinuxSetup generates shell scripts that install software on Linux. It is a free tool. You choose a distribution and a set of packages, and the site produces a script you can copy or download. Everything is generated in your browser.
Run scripts at your own risk
The scripts run with administrator (sudo) privileges on your machine. They add software repositories, import signing keys, and install packages. Read any script before you run it. You are responsible for what you execute on your own systems.
We recommend reviewing the generated script and keeping backups of important data before running system-level changes.
Third-party software
LinuxSetup does not host, distribute, or modify any of the software it installs. The scripts fetch packages directly from each vendor's official repositories. All software is governed by its own licence and its publisher's terms. Trademarks and product names belong to their respective owners, and their inclusion here does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by them.
No warranty
This service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Package names, repository URLs, and vendor installation methods change over time, and a script that worked yesterday may not work today. We do not guarantee that any script will be error-free, complete, or suitable for your system.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LinuxSetup and its author are not liable for any damage, data loss, downtime, or other harm arising from the use of this site or of any script it generates.
Acceptable use
Please do not use this site to distribute malware, to attempt to break or overload the service, or in any way that breaks the law where you are.

This site is funded by advertising. Ads are supplied by Google AdSense and their content is not chosen or endorsed by us. See the privacy policy for how advertising cookies are used.
